Which was revealed in Makkah The Reason for the Revelation of this Surah and the Arrogance of Abu Lahab toward the Messenger of Allah Al-Bukhari recorded from Ibn `Abbas that the Prophet went out to the valley of Al-Batha and he ascended.

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined! May he be ruined too!

Neither his wealth nor his gains will help him:

he will burn in the Flaming Fire––

and so will his wife, the firewood-carrier,

with a palm-fibre rope around her neck.
