Surah Al-Baqarah Ayah 34

وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِـَٔادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

In Saheeh International's English translation, Quran 2:34 says: “And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate before Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees.<sup foot_note=195949>1</sup> He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers.”
